I don’t usually get all teary eyed, especially about the death of someone that I never met and who simply sold me stuff. But as a mega-mac user, I did feel a little weepy at the news of Steve Job’s passing. Apple has been a big part of my life since I got my first iBook in 2002 (still goes!) and since then I’ve had a number of iPods, iMacs, MacBooks and now an iPhone. So yeah, lots of me is invested in Apple (though I wish I had ACTUALLY invested in Apple … ) This is a song from 2006, written on a Mac, about iPods and their cultural niche. Typically cynical, but with a little bit of love and admiration hidden under all that.
